Open Compliance in the sidebar. Picking Live before you’re verified also brings you here. The badge at the top says where you are: Not live, Live, Action needed or Suspended. There are three steps, in order.

1. Identity

Your BVN and a selfie. See Verify your identity. Do this step if you’ll verify the business. Only owners and admins see the form; developers and viewers see a note that an owner or admin does it. Each person sees their own state. Once the organization is live, the step reads Not needed for anyone who hasn’t verified.

2. Business

An owner or admin who has verified their BVN and a selfie does this. A NIN isn’t enough.
  1. Search for your business: its RC or BN number, or its name.
  2. Pick it from the results. Inactive businesses, and businesses already used by another organization, can’t be picked.
  3. Click the Verify button. It shows your business’s name, like Verify Ade Foods Ltd.
We check the record with CAC. If it passes, the step shows your business’s legal name, number, type, dates, address and its proprietors or directors. Live keys unlock straight away. There’s no review by FastCAC. It’s free, and you get 3 attempts. Once it’s verified, you can’t change it here, so check that the right person is doing it (below). No registered business yet? Register it on FastCAC.

3. Payments

Your funding account opens by itself once the business is verified. You transfer money to it to fund your live wallet.

Who the funding account belongs to

  • It’s in your business’s CAC name (shortened if it’s long).
  • Its representative is the person who verified the business: the person Bachs holds responsible for the account, by their legal name and BVN. Not FastCAC.
  • That’s whoever did step 2, not necessarily whoever created the organization. If they no longer have a verified BVN or have left, it’s another owner (then admin) who has verified theirs.
If that should be someone else, they need to do step 2 instead of you, before anyone verifies the business. See If someone else should take the organization live.

Status

Once you’re live, a Status card shows your business’s CAC status, when we last checked it, and the next check. We check every week. If CAC stops listing it as active, owners and admins are emailed and the card shows the date live access would be suspended. See Staying live.
