# Going live

> From test mode to real registrations.

>
> Live registrations aren't open yet. Until your organization is enabled, live keys can run name
> checks, but registration calls return `403 live_mode_unavailable`. Everything you build in test
> mode will work unchanged once they open.

## Checklist

**1. Get your organization verified**

FastCAC verifies your business before enabling live registrations. Contact
[fastcac@mydigitalabode.com](mailto:fastcac@mydigitalabode.com) to start.

**2. Handle every outcome**

Use [test mode](https://docs.fastcac.com/test-mode.md) to exercise approval, queries, failed identity checks, rejected
documents and rejection, end to end.

**3. Set up live webhooks**

Add your production endpoint in live mode and verify signatures.

**4. Create a live key**

An admin or owner creates it. Store it in your secret manager.

**5. Switch keys**

Swap `fc_test_…` for `fc_live_…`. Nothing else changes: same base URL, requests and responses.
`simulate` parameters are ignored from now on.
